I was told the other day that I needed to start a blog. With all the time I have on my hands right? I figure this would be a better outlet rather than sitting on the couch and watching mindless tv. So here it is, the very first entry of hopefully many.
We are the Guillory's. There are three of us in our little family, as you may notice in the pictures I have posted. Our son is 13 months, which is an amazing thought because I feel it was just yesterday that Trevor and I got married. I've realized at this age that time doesn't seem to "change" in your mind, only in the world around you. Anyway, I figure it's important that I leave a small editorial on my family and who we are.
Trevor is from Chico CA; his entire family lives in the area and they have lived there since they were in elementary school. He does not have a firm grasp on his paternal family history, but we do know that they are French and came from Louisiana. However, Trevor insists that he is Native American and Black (his big toe I think). If this were true I think he would be a better dancer!
I am from everywhere; born in Fresno CA and ended up joining the Air Force in beautiful Austin TX. I am partial to that state, and would love to go back someday. My family history is also French, but I have some Hawaiian and Portuguese in me (hence the name of our blog spot). Unfortunately I did not get the dark skin I so desire, but I know it's there somewhere!
Asher is our beautiful son; born right here in quaint Yuba City CA. He is our miracle baby. The child we prayed for years to have, but was well worth the wait. He is our pride and joy; the one thing that truly gives meaning to life. He is the most sweet tempered, loving, and happy child I have ever met. His name means "Happy" in Hebrew, which suits him well. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy.
We are currently living in Northern California, in a small town called Marysville. I'm not sure why we came here, not the most exciting place in the world, but we are here nonetheless. Trevor is working full time and going to school during the day. I hope he makes it through this semester without completely losing his mind. Hopefully things will fall into place over the next few months so he can quit and attend school full time. It will be well worth the sacrifice when he's finished; 2010 will be a great year!
Is this enough for my first entry? I guess I need to check everyone else's blog for some ideas! Until then... Aloha.
